VARIEGATED CALAMONDIN

This lime-like plant is actually a variegated calamondin. It looks a bit like the kumquat or lime except that the fruits and leaves are variegated. I read that it tastes like mandarin oranges and that it is good for making preserves and marmalade.
It makes a good little ornamental tree that can be trimmed into shape. The plant thrives in cool and elevated areas, soils that are sandy and rich in organic matter. It doesn’t like to be waterlogged. They have a lifespan of about 5 years.
