APPLES WITH AUSPICIOUS CHARACTERS

I came across these apples at a shop selling fruits. As it is, apples are already deemed to be auspicious by the Chinese as the Chinese word for apple “pingguo” sound like “ping’an” – at least the sound of the first syllable matches. “Ping’an” means peace or peaceful, and that is quite a good new year blessing. What is even more auspicious about the apples above are that they are combining an auspicious fruit with auspicious greetings.
So how do you think the Chinese characters got imprinted on the apples.  Well, it appears that  a sticker is put on the apples before they fully ripen. The sticker blocks out the sun so that where it is placed the apple does not redden.  As simple as that.  Now, shall I try it on some fruits I have growing the herb garden?
