SCAVENGING FOR VEGETABLES
When I was at the wet market yesterday morning, I saw this lady going through a pile of vegetables that had been thrown by the traders. The vegetables were either not that fresh or that they had some blemishes. I noticed that the lady was selected the okay ones from the pile and put it on a wheelchair that she used to push all the things that she managed to scavenge. I wonder what she would do with the vegetables. Cook them for her meals or feed them to the animals. When my mum was alive and rearing tortoises, I used to ask the vegetable man to give me those that he discarded so that I could feed them to my mum's pets.
