TA PAU

The roll of plastic bags you see in the first picture is used to ta pau (takeaway) leftover food during a dinner at the restaurant.  I was told that it was Sitiawan culture to prepare the plastic bags for the guests who might want to ta pau food back.  Also, the portion of food served here is much more than other places.  Hence the need to takeaway the leftovers.

say 'ta-pau' in Hong Kong and they take it to mean 'dealing with corpse'
