NO LIME PLANTS FOR ME THIS YEAR

For the past ten years it had been a duty of mine to accompany my late mother to buy lime plants to decorate our garden to welcome the lunar new year.  Before that it was my late father's duty.
Initially I had thought of buying two pots of lime plants from my regular florist, Ah Chun, to decorate my house in Ipoh but was told by him not do so as a sign of respect as my mum has only been laid to rest for less than a year.  He could have kept quiet about the matter and easily sold the plant to me but it was really sweet of him to tell me not to.  He said I could buy the other plants but not to tie red ribbons or strings on them.
