One flower which is very popular and highly prized for the Chinese New Year is the azalea. Above you can see the beautiful, blooming azaleas that were sold at the Farmer's market in Sitiawan.
So why are azaleas considered auspicious.  This is because to the Chinese this flower symbolises harmony and smoothness of flow in life.  Those that are most popular are Red and Pink in colour.  And we know that such colours are wildly auspicious to the Chinese.
