One of Lai Yoong's pals told her about this newly opened shop selling Taiwanese dessert in Sitiawan that was having an opening offer of buy one free one. As yesterday was the last day of the offer, both of us made our way to the place to take advantage of the offer.
The name of the premise is BlackBall - Original Taiwanese Tea & Dessert. From the information I got, this franchise started back in 2006 and is one of the biggest dessert chains in Taiwan. The Blackball franchise has made its way to our shores and the latest to be opened is the one in Sitiawan.
Lai Yoong and I ordered two Jiu Fen Yam Ball crushed ice which costs RM6.90 each. Since it was buy one free one we only paid the price of one. The place is called Blackball because each of the desserts come with the springy black balls which are made from 'Xian Cao' 仙草, its 'black' jelly (grass jelly)
