Hor hee is a noodle dish which is popular in my home town, Ipoh. It is a dish made up of delicious kuey teow (flat noodles) with fish balls, fish paste and fish wantan. Those stalls that have made a name for themselves are Li Heng Fatt Restaurant along Jalan Panglima in the Old Town and Gao Peng Restaurant situated at Chamberlain Road in Ipoh New Town. There is another popular one at Hollywood Restaurant in Canning Garden. It is the Seng Kee Mee Stall (pictured above). If I am not mistaken, the stall is there during the weekends and during the weekdays it operates along Jalan Lahat. When I am back in Ipoh, I like to order the Hor Hee Noodles but opt for the glass noodles instead of the flat noodles.
