When I visited the Perak Cultural Fair two weekends ago, I was very much interested in the Paper Mache Lion Heads that were used for the lion dance. According to the sifu, the traditional lion head is made from paper, wire and bamboo. It is a painstaking process which can take anywhere from 7 to 30 days to complete. Each head can costs a few thousand ringgit depending on the design.
