Last weekend I went with my Aunt Linda, Lai Yoong and her Aunt Josephine to Gopeng to try the Lai Fun at Chee Wan restaurant. When we reached the town at 7.40 p.m., one of the residents directed us to Restoran Chee Wan located opposite RHB Bank. He said this was THE stall famous for its Lai Fun and the fish paste dishes. The local also told us that at that time there would not be much liew (fish paste dishes) left.
Luckily for us, there was still food for us to order when we reached the place.
To be really honest, I was rather disappointed with the Lai Fun and the ingredients. It was not like the one I had at the stall near the Gopeng market. Now that was something to look forward to.
