FRIED RICE CAKE




The above hawker at the pasar malam is preparing a roadside snack called Char Koay Kak or Fried Rice Cake.  It is also known as Chai Tau Kueh.  I read somewhere that this dish is rarely to be found outside Malaysia and Singapore.  So it did not originate from China and may just be a local invention.
