I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw pictures of a pink lake. At first, I thought it was photoshopped by later I found that such a lake does exist on earth. The lake is in Senegal and is called Lake Retba. It seems that in summer when the saline levels are high, the lake turns strawberry pink and even red. For your information, the lake's unusual appearance is caused by a salt-loving green micro alga called Dunaliella Salina that resides in the lake, known for its high concentration of the mineral.
