MINDING AMIR WHILE HIS DAD GETS MEDICAL TREATMENT

On Monday afternoon, I received a distressed call from Amir.  He said that his Papa was very sick and asked me to go to his house immediately. In the background, I could hear Amir's papa screaming and groaning and I realised it was an emergency.  At that time Kamariah and I were in the library making preparations for an upcoming English language test paper.  Both of us stopped what we were doing immediately and quickly sprung into action.  I went to get permission from the deputy director to go out from the college while Kamariah quickly called Haji Hasnin to go along with us.
While we were on our way to the house, Amir kept calling and saying that his Papa's condition had become worse.  I could hear his Papa crying out in pain and was getting very tensed. When we reached the house, we saw that Ishak was lying down on the mattress and his face was turning purple.  He looked terrible and the three of us quickly gave him first aid.  He had a severe case of asthma attack.
When he was a bit better, we sent him to the nearest hospital which was the Specialist Hospital in Sitiawan to get treatment. However, he did not want to be warded but wanted to go home to rest.
On Tuesday morning, I got another call from him saying that he was again having breathing difficulties and felt that he was going to get another bad attack.  So I again got permission for Haji Hasnin and I to go fetch him from his house.  This time around we sent him to the district hospital near our school.
In the pictures above, you can see Amir and me waiting outside the emergency ward while his papa was using the nebuliser.  I bought a waffle for the boy to eat as he only took a few biscuits in the morning.  We later went back to the college first as we found that the treatment for his dad would take some time.
Here you see Amir at my table in the library.  He was kept occupied playing the Super Mario game while waiting for his dad.  Thankfully, two of my other colleagues, who had gone to see how Ishak was doing in the emergency ward during lunch time, helped to fetch him back from the hospital to the college.
