I consider myself pretty lucky to be living in a place where I can take a short, relaxing break by driving to the beach which is about 12 km away from my house. The beach I am referring to is in Teluk Batik. It is a pleasant beach with white sand beaches and swaying coconut trees which makes it an ideal site for relaxation and swimming. At low tide, some hard corals become visible. Those who wish to stay can rent the chalets or book a room in the resorts here.
You don't need to worry about parking as the parking bays are more than enough to accommodate hundreds of visitors. This beach is usually crowded during public holidays and weekends. I don't go there to swim but just to walk along the golden sandy beach. Sometimes, I go for picnics with my family members who come for a visit. The beach is considerably clean and you can swim here.
Renovations have been made to the surrounding area to make it more appealing to locals and tourists. There are big structures and spacious squares for you to take a stroll. New restrooms have also been constructed and they are clean and sanitary. Those who take a dip in the sea can wash up and take a shower. Tyre tubes, chairs and boats are some of the facilities available for rent at the beach.
Then there are the souvenir stalls for those who want to look for souvenirs. Many of the souvenirs are made from shells and corals which have been painted and designed in many different shapes and sizes. There are also a number of food stalls in the area.
** For the pictures above, Kamariah and I specially went there last week as we wanted to do our bit to promote Manjung.
