SAR KOK (TURNIP FRITTERS)

One food that Ipoh is famous for is the Sar Kok Liew.  It is actually deep fried turnip fritters wrapped in beancurd skin.  How does it taste like?  I got the following description on a Visit Perak Year pamphlet; the turnip gives a sweetish flavour while the beancurd provides a slightly salty taste.  Sar Kok may be dipped in curry or added to noodle soup.  It may be considered as the Hakka (a Chinese dialect group) version of the 'hashbrown".
