There are a lot of breadfruit trees or pokok sukun (Artocarpus altilis) that are planted all along the housing area that my mother resides. However, I think that the trees are planted for decorative purposes as I can see a lot of the breadfruit on the tree and also many left on the ground after they have fallen. In the villages, the fruit is eaten. The villagers make fried sukun as snacks.
