WELL WISHES FOR A SAFE JOURNEY TO MECCA

My colleagues and I paid a visit to our former principal, Puan Siti Arfah, at her home yesterday evening.  We had gone there to wish her a safe and pleasant journey to Mecca.  She and her husband will be performing their Haj this year.  They will be leaving on the 26th of October.
One thing I forgot to do was to give her an Ang Pow (Red Packet) for a safe journey.  This is what many traditional Chinese elders would do when their friends or relatives go on a journey.  The red packet is for good luck and to ward off evil spirits.  One never knows what will happen when we board a plane to another land.  Perhaps, I'd pop over to Puan Siti's house to give her a Lai See (another word for Ang Pow).  The amount does not need to be much, it is just a token sum.
