CONCOCTION TO REDUCE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Way back in the year 2007 when I first took over the management of the school resource centre, I was under a lot of stress and pressure.  The previous teacher who was in-charge left a lot of work undone and there were a lot of unsettled bills and also errors.
Things became so bad that my blood pressure shot up and I almost blacked out while driving back to Sitiawan from Ipoh.  The doctor told me to take things easy and told me to rest at home instead of going to school.

As the doctor suspected that my blood pressure might be caused by work-related stress and lack of sleep, he did not prescribe any medication for high blood pressure but instead gave me some pills for giddiness and told me to take a good rest and relax. He'd examine me again the following week.

As I was not one to just sit around and do nothing. I went to the market to buy some curry leaves and karela (small bitter gourd). I was told that boiling these and drinking them would help to reduce ones blood pressure. However, when I was at the market I was told to try a more potent concoction by the vegetable seller. It seems that drinking the blended juicie of a green apple, two karelas, a celery stick, one carrot and one green capsicum will be more effective. So, I bought the stuff, cut them up, blended and drunk the juice. Believe me, it was very difficult to drink. I almost threw up but I did feel a bit better. When I went for my next check-up with the doctor, my blood pressure had returned to normal. That was way about 4 years ago.

Recently I had again been feeling giddy and true enough my blood pressure reading was high.  This time around, it would most probably be due to all the stress and worry I had because of my mum's condition.  Furthermore, I had a lot of work to catch up on after she became better and there are also currently a few major activities happening in school.

The pictures you see above were taken in 2007.  I will be drinking this concoction again to lower my blood pressure.  I hope this is a temporary state for me as I do not want to be a slave of the hypertension pills.
