My sister, Li Mei and her husband had a hard time the past week as she kept insisting that she was very sick and wanted to be admitted to the hospital. What doctor would admit someone if they were not really very ill? My sister was at her wit's end when she gave me a call on Thursday evening. I told her to wait as I would be back in Ipoh on Friday night and take over from her. In the meantime, I had called my mum on Thursday night informing her I'd be taking her up to the temple in the mountain to see my sifu on Saturday morning. Believe me, she was very reluctant but I was insistent and so she had to give in to me.
So on Saturday afternoon, my mum was made to climb up the 158 steps to the temple assisted by my sister and me. My aunt also made the journey up to give my mum encouragement. It took us more than half an hour to reach the top as we made many stops along the way. Thankfully, both my mum and aunt successfully made it up.
We spent about half an hour praying and meditating at the temple before going down again. Believe me, our pilgrimage up the hill did a world of good for my mum and even my aunt. They felt much better and my mum's breathing improved and she felt energised. Tomorrow, she will have a flower bath to energise her body's Qi.
