PICKLES FROM PENANG ROAD

One of the things to buy back after visiting the Pearl of the Orient (the nickname for Penang) are pickles or jeruk. Mention Penang, and the first thing one might think of is nutmegs.  Here I am selecting the type of pickle to buy from a shop in Penang Road.  the owner let me try each type of pickle first.

Here are some of the pickles available.
All types of fruits could be made into pickles.
Pickled Kelubi
Pickled kedondong
Pickled papaya
Pickled mango (peeled)
pickled nutmegs
Pickled mangoes (with skin)
Two other types of pickles (not sure of their names)
Pickled Buah Kabong (Attap Chee)

Dried and shredded nutmeg
Pickled plum
More pickles
Pickled kedondong (dyed green)
Pickled nutmeg and onions
