Pictured above is the canteen operator of my school, Puan Ana. She is frying a plate of Nasi Goreng Kampung (Kampung style fried rice) for me as most of the food for lunch at the canteen had been sold. I like to eat this traditional Malay style of fried rice and would ask Puan Ana to add more ginger for me.
For the interest of those who have not eaten this dish before, Nasi Goreng Kampung is a type of fried rice, traditionally flavoured with pounded fried fish. Nowadays, fried anchovies are used in place of the fried fish. Want to try cooking this dish? Then click this link.
