FLYING STAR FENG SHUI: THE SOUTH IN 2011

 My mum and Sophie

Sophie with her husband and two children

During the Chinese New Year, my godsister Sophie asked me to give some suggestions as to what remedies and cures to use for her South facing house.  In the year of the Rabbit, the South is afflicted by the #2 Black Star which brings sickness.

Here is information that I found for her which I am sure would interest quite a number of my visitors as well.

SOUTH (Fire) 2

In 2011, SOUTH is effected by the Kun 2 Black (Ju Men). This is an Earth star. In terms of health, Black 2 affects the digestive system specifically, but brings general sickness. It also affects the eldest female in the family and is overall very inauspicious. Black 2 needs to be either cured or avoided this year. Otherwise it can cause many problems.

If you have a bedroom, office, family room, main door or other important room in the SOUTH you are unable to move this area and so it definitely needs to be cured.

Try and keep this area as quiet as possible and avoid renovations in this sector in 2011. If the SOUTH sector falls on your bathroom, utility room, laundry, garage or the guest bedroom this is great news. No cures are needed for the SOUTH in the least active and least important rooms this year.

This star mostly affects ones health, and may bring sickness, disease, bad luck, stress, stomach and digestive problems, as well as gossip, back stabbing, family disharmony and stress.

The 2 Black in Period 8 is an untimely star and its influence will remain negative until 2024. If SOUTH is your front door, side door or any main room in the house, you must cure it by placing a brass or gold Wu Lou in this sector. Also place 6 Chinese coins tied with red ribbon and round metal singing bowl in the SOUTH. If you do not have a metal bowl, any round shape metal object in this sector would be a great cure. Metal dissipates Black 2 negative influence. Just make sure none of the metal objects are fierce looking or have a sharp pointy edges. Do Not place any triangular or pyramid metal shapes or any other triangular objects in the SOUTH this year. Pregnant women should try and avoid using a bedroom located in the SOUTH this year as well. If it is not possible to relocate the bedroom, make sure you sleep with the crown of your head in your personal Tien Yi direction.

Place a brass Wu-Lou beside your bed. The brass Wu-Lou (calabash) lends supports to this area and symbolizes good health. In Asia, Wu Lous are often used in the room of the sick person as generic spiritual cure, along with the Medicine Buddha or Quan Yin statue.

More importantly, DO NOT decorate a SOUTH room with red FIRE colors or triangle shapes, avoid burning red or any candles in this sector or using bright lighting in SOUTH area for a long time during the year.

SOUTH cures:

  • Set of 6 Chinese coins tied with red ribbon.
  • Any round metal objects ( it could be anything from actual singing bowl, dog food bowl, metal fitness weights, round metal gong, etc.).
  • Place a brass or gold wealth Ingot in the SOUTH for the wealth protection.
  • Place a gold or brass colored three legged Toad with an I-Ching coin in this area.
  • Place a brass Wu Lou near the bed, or the desk if this area is your office. Place statue of Quan Yin or Medicine Buddha in the South as well.
  • Hang the image or place the Statue of 8 Immortals on the South sector, especially if this is your bedroom to prevent health issues.
  • Avoid using FIRE element (red colors) in this room, as well as any triangle shape objects or pictures in this area.
  • If you are a contemporary art collector, and have any pictures with the shapes on your walls, make sure any of these images are moved or removed from the South wall this year and placed in appropriate sector.
  • Avoid candles or bright lights in the SOUTH. Place a Ba Gua mirror in this area outside for the entire year.
