There was a heavy downpour at around 1.00 p.m. today. I was told that some Muslims would collect this rain water as it is supposed to be imbued with special blessings since it falls on a Friday which is a holy day for the Muslims. If the rain falls during the Friday prayer time, then it is even better as it has the added power of prayers at that time. It seems that this blessed water is used to help to cleanse a place and to ward off evil. It is also used to treat ailments. By the way, the rain must be collected in an open space and not from a roof or a building.
