When I first saw The Rock at The Haven above I was captivated. It reminded me of the rocks in the movie Avatar. What is more fascinating is that this particular rock is more than 14storeys high and is located in a pristine lake with crystal clear water.
There is a contest to put a name to this 280 million year old rock which has been in existence through the ages along with the other limestone hills that the Kinta Valley is famous for. The winner gets RM25,000.
If I have my way, I'd name it Li Na Rock. They can keep the prize money, I'd be contented with this magnificent beauty bearing my name for prosterity. Hey! Don't laugh! Both The Rock and I belong to Ipoh. Of course, I wasn't born as long ago.
