DOES FENG SHUI WORK?

I had a brief discussion with Daniel about Feng Shui yesterday when he helped me to check the infrastructure of my new house.  I had pointed out that some schools of Feng Shui say that having a fire hydrant in front of the house is not too auspicious but then we can counter it by placing Feng Shui cures.  My friend Poo-poohed the idea and told me not to dwell too much on the matter.  For your information, there is a road running straight towards Daniel's house.  He and his wife have been staying in their new house for more than three months and both appear to be fine.
So, the question  now is "Does Feng Shui work?"  It is a rather difficult question to answer, right?  There have been stories about people making pots of money after they managed to find a house with good feng shui and there have also been stories of people who live in houses at T-junctions falling ill or even meeting with accidents.  In my mother's case, she was very sick for months on end and there was nothing the doctors and specialists could do to make her better.  It was when I used Feng Shui methods for locations and clutter that my mum made a full recovery.
Then there is a story I heard this afternoon about a lady whose house is two doors away from the house with the T-junction who died even before she got to move into her new house.  The people living in the house at th T-junction are said to be healthy and also thriving.  Then there is this thing about houses facing South-west being afflicted by the five yellow this year.  The lab assistant in my school, Sazali, has been living in a house that is at a T-junction for about ten years and his family are all healthy and happy neither are they trouble by financial woes.  As a matter of fact, his wife conceived their third and fourth child while living in that house.  Well, my rented house faces South-west.  I have noticed that all the neighbours that are living in the same row of houses with me are in good health.  There are no deaths nor serious illnesses.  Neither have I heard of any of my neigbours being involved in lawsuits or have they been robbed or burgled.  For your information, half of my neighbours are Malays and they do not believe in Feng Shui.
Sooo ... does Feng Shui really work? I am sure that there are certain elements of Feng Shui that are really effective but not all.  However, it is my firm believe that good and sincere intentions plus Divine blessings are more workable.  Anybody has any comments?
