5,500 YEAR OLD SHOE

This is a very, very old leather shoe indeed.  It was found in a cave along with other evidence of human occupation in the mountains of Armenia. The shoe had been stuffed with grass, which dated to the same time as the leather of the shoe — between 5,637 and 5,387 years ago
Honestly, if I had dug out something looking like that from my garden, I wouldn't have thought that it was a shoe.  Thank goodness the right people found it.  If not it would have been thrown into the garbage bin by ordinary folks like you and I.
