PHENOMENA IN KOREA

I think that South Korea is the only country in the world where we have the phenomenon of loads of fans and media waiting to send off their favourite celebrities who will be enlisting for the army.  Time and again, I have read of hordes of fans gathering at the entrance of the military training centre to bid farewell to their idols who would have to serve for 2 years.
Well, this time it is the turn of actor Lee Junki to leave his acting career behind for the Nonsan Military Training Center on May 3rd where he bade farewell to fans and the media.  Jun Ki sported a crew cut or more commonly known as a buzz cut hairstyle.
He will begin his five weeks of basic military training before serving his two years as an active soldier. I am a fan of his and am glad that he has not shirked his duty to his country by coming up with some excuses for not being able to serve.  Now we will have to wait for his return on February 16th, 2012 as a civilian to enjoy watching him in a drama or a movie.

P/s:  Note that without the stylish long hair and the make-up, he does not look girlish at all.  In fact he just looks like any ordinary young man.
