There are quite a number of Feng Shui masters who say that the door of the bedroom should not be facing a staircase, toilet door or kitchen. If ones bed room door is facing the toilet door, one of the remedies that the masters advise on using is to hang a wind chime in between so that the good qi does not get flushed down the toilet. Another remedy recommended as a cure is two hang obsidian wu lous on each side of the doors facing each other.
Then again there are also some Feng Shui masters who believe that the majority of bathroom Feng Shui DO’s and DON'Ts in popular books are merely ‘folk beliefs.’ They insists that if one can see into the bathroom when coming from the bedroom then they just need keep the bathroom door closed or at least ajar. They say that in actuality that this is a sanitation issue that goes back to when families used chamber pots before indoor plumbing was available.
For your information, my mother's bedroom door directly faces the bathroom door but the distance between the two is about 20 feet. However, she got rather worried when she watched a new year Feng Shui programme and heard the Feng Shui master Miao Da saying that it is not good to have room doors directly facing each other. So she bought 4 obsidian wu lous and got me to hang them up on each side of her bedroom door and the bathroom door. Well, as long as it makes my mummy happy and gives her peace of mind, I am game for it. That my friends is good feng shui.
