Me at a tea plantation in Cameron Highlands this afternoon
Besides following the Feng Shui tips, my mum has gone with me to the temples to pray to Tai Sui and we also lit some candles and oil-lamps at a few temples. My sifu has also given me some talisman to place in my car and also in my house for protection.
I am also a firm believer in travelling across the sea or up the mountain to get rid of bad luck and at the same time to improve it. That is why I decided to visit Cameron Highlands today to be rid of the bad luck and be recharged with the good..
One Feng Shui practice to get rid of insistant bad luck that is followed by many Chinese is to travel out of the country - the farther the better. It would be better if the travel involves crossing a sea or an ocean. Also note that it would be better if the time zone of our tour destination is different from our country. This is because when one travels to another place, the surrounding energy from the environment changes drastically. According to Feng Shui beliefs, going forward and backward in time between two countries also could alter ones luck.
But then not all of us have the time or the disposable cash to afford travelling afar. So the next best solution is to go to another state or even a different town. Try visiting one of the many islands in Malaysia, that would entail travelling across a sea.
Another alternative would involve going up to hills and mountains (higher grounds) to shoo away bad luck and disasters. Furthermore, climbing mounting also indicates “climbing to a higher position” and therefore it is no surprise why ancient Chinese make it a custom to climb mountains to symbolise achievement. In addition, going up mountains or to higher grounds has the meaning of “climbing to a longevous life”.
