FU CAI SEONG: HUSBAND AND WIFE LOOK

 Like the Chinese, the Malays also believe that if the husband and wife look very much like each other then they are considered to be compatible and that the likelihood of the marriage lasting till death do them part is very high. In Cantonese, we call it "Fu Chai Seong". Loosely translated it means, the 'husband-and-wife look'.

Well, if you look at the pictures of the couple above, Haris and Hazlin, you would find that they have looks that are similar.  Now this does not mean that they look like twins but rather they have facial features that may make them look like brother and sister or relatives.  Well, both my friends have been married about fifteen or sixteen years and their marriage is going strong.  They are as loving as the first time I met them when we started to work together in our present school.
By the way, Kamariah who knew them even earlier than I told me that they have become more alike in appearance than when they first started dating.  Hmm ... interesting!
