What you see above are two victims of two different types of calamities standing side by side. My colleague, Puan Rasilah, went through a trying time when her house was a few feet deep in flood waters just a couple of days before Deepavali and next to her is my student, Mazlan, whose house was gutted by fire on 18th October, 2008. I am very thankful that both of them and their families are safe as they are two people whom I am very fond of.
