WHAT THE LOTUS FLOWER SYMBOLISES

The lotus flower or the sacred lotus (Nelumbo nucifera). In Buddhist symbolism the lotus represents purity of body, speech, and mind, as if floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire. The Buddha and Kuan Yin are often depicted sitting on a giant lotus leaf or blossom. According to legend, Buddha was born with the ability to walk and everywhere he stepped, lotus flowers bloomed. The lotus also represents creative power. So planting this flower in ones garden and also having drawings and symbols of this flower would be auspicious.
