When I went to Eric's shop last week, I saw him tying three Chinese Emperor coins (replicas) with a red string. He told me that he was going to hang it on the door of his shop. He was opting for three instead of six or nine coins combination.
In Feng Shui terms, it is believed that hanging a combination of either three/six/nine coins tied with a red thread or ribbon over a shop door or on the door handle will encourage money to come into the shop.
Besides the business premise, hanging coins on the door handles of the main door is an excellent way to bring money luck into your home and it also benefits all the members of the house. Please remember that the coins should be hung on the inside of the door and not outside. Please do not go to the extreme and hang coins on each and every door of your house. Hanging coins on the main door is enough.
You can also hang a small bell on the door handle on the outside. The bell symbolizes good luck coming into the house while the coins symbolize wealth which has already come into the house. You should not hang coins on the back door, as the back door represents the way through which something goes away from you.
