I read in a book about symbolism in Chinese culture that a long time ago in ancient China the peasants were uneducated and somehow the intellectuals at that time thought of a way to inspire them to work hard and to achieve success. Hence the introduction of auspicious sayings written on red pieces of paper and pasted on the doors or walls of the houses. Even though many of the peasants could not read but they were told the meanings of what was written on the red pieces of paper and they were sort of brainwashed day in and day out when they looked at them. It is sort of like the self-fulfilling prophesy, whereby if we condition our minds to do something, then we will be able to do it. So ladies and gentlemen, look at the wordings on my tee-shirt. Do you think I will be able to achieve that? Kee Kee Kee.
