WHAT'S IN A NAME?

I have already mentioned before that the Chinese place great importance in their names. If someone is given a name that is not suitable for him or her then then things might not go too smoothly for that person. It must be mentioned that compared to the trinity of heaven, earth and man luck, ones name has only a bit of influence on our fate. Nevertheless, it does have its effect especially if the individual is lacking in one of the 5 elements (metal, wood, water, fire and earth).
By nature, I am very Kiasu and had my name and Ba Zi checked by feng shui masters. The Chinese character for my middle name had to be changed for me to enjoy good health and live to a considerable ripe old age. I was also advised by my Feng Shui teacher to make use of the new name as much as possible to activate and energise it. Otherwise, changing it would not be of much use. What did I do? I had stickers made with my name and pasted them on all my stuff. Today, I managed to get a travelling artist from Beijing, a Mr Ting, to do a calligraphy drawing of my name. See, he has done it so artistically and even added all the beautiful auspicious symbols such as peonies, a fish and a peacock, to it. In addition, he wrote a poem using the three characters from my name. The poem praised my beauty, intelligence and talents. YES!!! That must surely be one of the lucky things to kickstart 2008. I'll get the piece framed and then hang it in the east sector of my house (the most auspicious for the year of the Rat) . If I come up with more ideas, I'll share with you here. So promise me that you'll keep visiting.
