Today is the 22nd of September according to the Gregorian calendar and when we refer to the Chinese lunar calendar, it is the 12th day of the 8th month. For the Chinese, the eighth month is an auspicious month to get married and many couples would get hitched during this time.
Let's look at what type of day today is. According to the Feng Shui almanac or T'ung Shu, it is a good day to pay tribute, for removal, meeting friends and for hunting. It is the day of the sheep and clashes with the cow. The good times are from 11 p.m. (Friday) to 1 a.m. (Saturday), 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. So even if it is not a day designated for marriage but it is still a good date. Many families would opt to choose such a date as it falls during the weekends and does not clash with the animal signs of both bride and groom.
