LIGHTING LAMPS TO HONOUR THE 9 KARTIGAI GIRLS







My Hindu neighbours are celebrating a festival which began yesterday.. They told me that for 3 consecutive nights they will be lighting lamps.
My friend Jaya informs that:
This is a festival where the goddess Parvathi joined 9 babies to become one that's Lord Murugan. This festival is to appreciate the 9 Kartigai girls who raised Lord Murugan.
