Hong Kong Egglet 香港雞蛋仔

I have heard about the Hong Kong egglet from Food programmes on telly but never tasted them before until Sunday. They are sold at a cafe in Marina Island. The egglet (“gai daan zai”) is one of the most popular street snacks in Hong Kong.

The egglet literally means mini chicken eggs. This is obvious from how the snack looks. It is made from a batter comprising mainly eggs, sugar, flour and evaporated milk. I tried it and loved the taste. Definitely worth going back for.
