Feng Shui Masters Say Baby Panda Birth A Positive Future For Country, Malaysians Want It To Be Named ‘Merdeka’
If you have been living under a rock, Malaysia’s infamous panda pair Liang Liang and Xing Xing, residents of Zoo Negara, have recently become parents to a female panda cub.
While pictures of the newborn are being shared all over social media, feng shui masters in Penang say the birth of the baby panda governed a new era and would provide a positive future for the country.
“The Chinese almanac shows that the baby panda’s birthday was both fortuitous and auspicious,” feng shui master Prof Joe Choo tells a local daily.
Meanwhile, another feng shui master, David Koh foretells that the baby panda would bring a change to the country.
“If it were a male, this cub could bring nationwide change within this year. If female, the effect will be slower but stronger and could happen in early 2017,” he said.
Besides the two masters' majestic welcome, excited netizens have also suggested for the cub to be named ‘Merdeka’ in conjunction with the month it was born.
“Merdeka since it was born so close to it,” wrote Facebook user Vijyah Balakrishnan.
“Merdeka will always be remembered in our hearts on this special day,” said another user, Aubrey Tan How.
