From today until the second of October, I will be observing a 9-day vegetarian fast in honour of the Nine Emperor Gods. You can see the pack of Vegetarian White Curry noodles that I have stocked up for this purpose. There are no shallots, onions, garlic and animal products in the ingredients. Some of you may wonder why shallots, onions and garlic are also taboo during the fast, right? It is because these are considered as aphrodisiac. Besides not consuming meat and aphrodisiacs, devotees also abstain from sex.
