One popular Hock Chiew dish in Sitiawan and Ayer Tawar is Red Rice Wine Vermicelli. To make this dish you need to get your hands on the red rice wine and also the dregs (the residue from the fermented rice wine). If you live in Sitiawan, like me, then it is easily available. The ones shown above were on sale at the Tua Pek Kong Temple in Pasir Panjang.
Unfortunately I can't tell you how the dish tastes as I am allergic to alcohol and I don't eat chicken.
