THANKING THE GODS FOR A BLESSED YEAR

I saw this aunty offering prayers outside her shop and asked her what the prayers were for. She told me that that that date was for thanking the deities for a blessed year.  If I am not mistaken, these prayers will usually be done before the winter solstice.  I did not want to bother her by asking more questions as she was busy praying.  Perhaps I will ask her the next time I meet her.
