RAIN AND THE NINE EMPEROR GODS

During the eve of the THE Nine Emperor Gods Festival when devotees went welcome the deities from the waterways it started to rain.  On the first day, there was a lot of rain.  On the second day, there was also rain.  But then the weather had remained sunny until the seventh day.  To the Taoists, this festival is synonymous with rain. Every year during the nine-day celebration, downpours are expected. Raining during this period is a good sign as the Chinese believe that water brings luck.
This year, the festival began on October 5 and will end on October 13.  We might expect a heavy downpour this Sunday as it is the 9th and final day of the festival where the devotees will send the deities off.
