In the picture above you can see that the statue on the right has been completely gold leafed. The three statues above were of revered monks who had passed on. In Buddhism, adding a gold leaf to a statue of Lord Buddha, deities, spirits or deceased monks is the outward token of the people's feeling of respect and
desire to worship holy objects. Gold leaf is applied humbly and reverently to all these by thousands devotees daily. In Thailand, after monks bless a new house or business premise, they will ever monks bless a new house, office building or hotel, put pieces of gold leaf on the main doors.
