CONTRIBUTION TO A LADY IN NEED

A few weeks' ago, Kamariah told me that her former neighbour, Puan Sa'adiah lost her eldest son.  The young man who had answered a late night call from a friend to fetch him from his workplace as no transport was available.  Unfortunately her 25 year old son met with an accident and died on the spot.
This was the second tragedy in her family.  Her second son also died when he fell down from a scaffolding while at work.  He was only 19 at that time.
Puan Sa'adiah has had a hard life.  When she was younger, her husband abandoned her and her three sons to be with another woman.  She was left to fend for her children who later took on work as labourers.  To make matters worse, she also suffers from diabetes. Her youngest son who is 22 years old now started working 3 months ago in Shah Alam as a cable man.  He is still on probation. She had to start working as a kitchen help in a restaurant to earn a living now.
When both of us told her story to our colleagues at the college, they decided to pass the hat around to contribute money for her.  Yesterday evening, my colleague Rasilah and I went and presented the contribution to her.
