FOOCHOW RED RICE WINE CHICKEN


The dish you see above is Red Rice Wine chicken.  It is a traditional, age-old Foochow dish. The traditional dish uses the yeast by-product that is collected when fermenting red rice wine or ang chow.  The dish is considered a good tonic for ‘ladies in confinement'.
I can't say whether it is delicious or not because I do not eat chicken and neither do I take wine.  However, my nephew and his friends whom I ordered it for said it was yummy.
