I made sure I typed the spelling for "Fucuk" carefully for fear that it might turn out to be something obscene should I miss the letter "U". Fucuk or dried tofu skin is a Chinese and Japanese food product made from soybeans. During the boiling of soy milk, in an open shallow pan, a film or skin composed primarily of a soy protein-lipid complex forms on the liquid surface. The films are collected and dried into yellowish sheets known as tofu skin or soy milk skin. LINK
When I was having lunch at a vegetarian restaurant in Ipoh last Sunday, I saw the workers separating the sheets of Fucuk that they had removed from the boxes. In Chinese cuisine, the skins are a mainstay of the vegetarian diet.
