Here in Malaysia we refer to the eggplant or aubergine as terung. The elongated and purple coloured ones are the ones that we are most familiar with. However there are round ones that are either green or purple.
Do you know why they are referred to as eggplants? Apparently the first eggplants were white and egg shaped. That’s how the eggplant we know got its name!
