BRING IN THE IMPORTANT ITEMS FIRST

Lai Yoong's brother-in-law, Mr David Wong and his family moved into their new house last week. They carried out the moving house rituals according to the instructions given by a sifu for good luck and auspice. As I am in mourning, I cannot visit their new house until after 100 days.

Anyway, I remember Lai Yoong telling me that her relatives brought in the important things into their house first. Those who adhere to Chinese traditions would bring the most important item when they first enter their new house. For the Taoists and Buddhists, they will carry statues or framed images of their Deities or Buddhas into the house. The furnitures would be next. Those who do not worship at home might bring their Safe Boxes (full of important documents, valuables, money et cetera) into the house first on the chosen date and time.
