LOCATING THE POWER POSITION IN A ROOM

The power position, or command position, is extremely important in feng shui. It positions you so that you can see the incoming flow of chi and protects you from behind.

If you sit with your back to the door, you will not only miss opportunities that are coming your way, you also will be unprepared and unprotected from behind—on a symbolic level you are open to attack.

Always make sure you face the door from your bed, desk, and other primary pieces of furniture like the couch in your living room. Sit as far away from the door as possible with a solid wall, high-backed chair, or large plant behind you. This will “protect your back” and give you a commanding view of the room.
